On Friday the 6th September the members of the BDMA together with the Honourable Minister Mr. Eric Molale went to the outskirts of Lobatse in a small village of Mabule to make a donation of P75,000.00 to the Red Cross foundation for the building of a rehabilitation center.
The Botswana Diamond Manufacturers Association (BDMA) was established as a Non-Profit Organization in 2007. The BDMA consists of 12 DBGSS sight-holder members, and 4 ordinary members of the Diamond Manufacturers in Botswana, with the current Chairman being Mr. Kfir Teichman. The BDMA is a member of the International Diamond Manufacturer’s Association, which is committed to fostering and promoting the highest ideals of honesty and best practice principles throughout the diamond industry worldwide.
Aurostar’s Factory Manager - Mr. Bart Heylen, who is also a Board Member of BDMA, accompanied Mr. Molale and his team members in making this contribution to the Red Cross Foundation. Here’s what Mr. Heylen has to say about his experience, “It was indeed a great experience to visit a village in such a remote area as well as the experience of being part of a traditional meeting in a Kgotla. The community together with the Chief of Mabule gave us a very warm welcome. The feeling of making such a donation to the less privileged people in the society was indeed touching. It was an eye-opener for me to realize how lucky and privileged some of us are. The donation made is expected to transform the lives of the people within and around the village for the better.”
