To strengthen its product offering the group is continually improving its quality manufacturing operations around the world, from Antwerp in Belgium to Surat in India. All this is done for a single purpose: to create the finest quality diamonds available.

Set-Up

In 2006 The Blue Star Group has opened the new world-class manufacturing set-up in Surat, India. This factory is amongst the most technologically advanced in the industry. Its work environment, production efficiency and quality set the standard for the whole Group and has raised the bar among its peers. This factory is the fourth factory of the Blue Star Group and the culmination of all experience gathered over the years. The group employs 4000 of the most skilled and experienced craftspeople, dedicated to produce the finest make of ‘round’ and ‘fancy’ cuts in all sizes, colours and clarities.

Responsive to Customers

Arjav’s manufacturing is closely oriented to customer needs. Besides Just In Time manufacturing, its R&D facility in Antwerp supplies the creativity needed to surprise and catch the eye of the consumer. Analysis of market intelligence is constantly applied to keep abreast – and preferably ahead – of customers’ needs.

Technology

Technologically, the Blue Star Group is constantly striving to achieve the best balance between value, yield and make. At every stage of production - from abstract planning down to the last exacting facet – it teams Sarin and OGI machines with the expertise of artisans to ensure the highest yields while rigorously maintaining quality. This systematic approach forms the basis of Blue Star Group’s strict and persistently pursued quality control. The use of lasers both for sawing and bruting has increased productivity and reduced diamond weight-loss.

Manufacturing Systems

At the heart of the group’s manufacturing is the Enterprise Resource Planning IT system, developed in-house to control, monitor and integrate the production facility. This allows the group to monitor and control the entire manufacturing unit remotely starting from planning to manufacturing to payrolls. This is giving the Blue Star Group a firmer grip over quality, more flexibility, and increased scheduling and forecasting capacity. In addition it allows the group to push through specific batches and prioritise stones based on specific requirements to be cut, providing an edge in the chase to keep up with continuous changing market trends and demands.

Future

The Blue Star Group is replicating the existing factory and its success in strategic cities around the world in order to expand the manufacturing ability of the Group. The manufacturing is closely oriented to customer needs, in order to deliver their perfect diamond.
